Found this interesting character in the Library of Congress Civil War Archives.

Apparently I’m not very good at blogging. I guess it’s like writing in a diary for me. I really like the idea. And I love journals. I have so many beautiful, empty journals, one would think I had the Anne Frank story to tell. But they just sit there waiting with blank pages, deserving to be filled with brilliance. And occasionally, when I feel a wave of inspiration, I’ll grab my pen, open my journal, sit down at a desk with a nice light and a cup of coffee and then–the inspiration is gone. Whatever I wanted to write suddenly seems mundane or obsessive or adolescent. So, perhaps I’m just not the journaling type and therefore, maybe not the blogging type either. I’m not giving up, though…here’s a picture of a cat in the sun, along with other telltales of spring…
